ABOUT
US
Adelaide Laser Pain Therapy combines the 40 years of cumulative experience of Sharon Tilley (Principal Physiotherapist at Lymphoedema and Laser Therapy) and Sharon Lehmann (Principal Medical Laser Therapist , formally at Cold Laser Pain Relief).
Our areas of expertise now culminate in the use of low level laser (now known as Photobiomodulation or cold laser) for the management of spinal pain, soft tissue injuries, tinnitus, headaches, fibromyalgia, post-covid syndrome and other musculoskeletal disorders.
We are one of the most experienced clinics in Australia to use Photobiomodulation (PBM) successfully and are committed to using state of the art PBM units from well-respected companies such as those listed below who undertake global research to support their technology.

SERVICES
Chronic inflammation is one of the main causes of ongoing pain and dysfunction and it is for this reason that our clinic has found PBM (cold laser) to be such a valuable therapy tool.
Over 4,000 clinical trials including 700 peer reviewed RCT’s have shown PBM to be a proven and potent intervention for inflammatory processes in many areas of the body.

Your therapist will take a medical history at your initial consultation and may use a medical grade thermography camera and software to assist in assessment of potential tissue inflammation sites. Thermography cameras use harmless infrared emission to detect areas of temperature change and then patented software displays these images for the therapist to observe and relate to areas of described pain . Our therapists have certified training in thermography from Med-Hot who are the industry medical partners of the FDA approved FLIR cameras.
Our treatment sessions take approximately 60 minutes and typically need to be undertaken twice per week for most conditions. In many cases reduction of symptoms can be experienced after 3-4 sessions although research and our own experience has shown there is a variation in individuals' immediate response to PBM. We do not aspire to the “ one size fits all” approach and treatment plans are designed to meet differing needs and social situations.
You do not need a GP referral to attend the clinic.
Currently there is no rebate available through Medicare or Private Health for this specific form of treatment.
